To create a new connection

  1. Open Remote Desktop Connection.

  2. In Computer, type a computer name or IP address. The computer can be a terminal server, or it can be a computer running Windows XP Professional or a Windows Server 2003 operating system that has Remote Desktop enabled and for which you have Remote Desktop permissions.

    To connect to the console session of the remote computer, in Computer, type:

    computername or IP address /console

  3. Click Connect.

    The Log On to Windows dialog box appears.

  4. In the Log On to Windows dialog box, type your user name, password, and domain (if required), and then click OK.
